Signing devices and services
Signing receipts is the main functionality of the Middleware and the core of fiscalization regulations in general. Depending on the country of operation, receipts can be signed by software services or by hardware devices.
As part of our carefree fiscalization approach, fiskaltrust aims to provide both variants, either by hosting appropriate solutions ourselves (like in Austria) re-distributing existing solutions in the market (like in Germany), or handling software-based signing directly in the Middleware (like in France). However, all three approaches have the common trait that PosDealers can now obtain the best-matching signing solution for their scenarios via the Portal's shop.

Middleware
fiskaltrust.RK-Online
The fiskaltrust.RK-Online is a yearly, subscription-based online service for signing receipts with the Middleware.
a-trust a.sign RK Chip Smart Card
The a-trust a.sign RK Chip Smart Card is a smart-card-based signing solution for signing receipts with the Middleware.
fiskaltrust.HSM
The fiskaltrust.HSM products provide HSM-based (hardware security module) based signing for different performance scenarios on a yearly subscription basis for signing receipts with the Middleware.
Signing-only
RKSV sign
The RKSV sign product is a signing-only solution for POS systems that already implemented the fiscalization regulations of Austria.
No additional services available/required, as the Middleware already comes with all necessary components to successfully sign receipts.
This documentation uses the English term Technical Security System when speaking about signing devices in Germany instead of the German abbreviation TSE (Technische Sicherheitseinrichtung). However, you can use the two terms interchangeably.
Supported Technical Security Systems
The fiskaltrust.Middleware support all certified TSSs that are currently available on the market:

While not all TSSs are available in our shop, we provide a good mixture of the most used cloud and hardware variants (as described below). In addition, individually bought TSSs of the vendors listed above are compatible with the Middleware.
It is possible to switch between vendors and types of TSEs as long as the appropriate products are purchased. You will find detailed instructions in the corresponding KBA.
TSE-as-a-Service
TSE-as-a-Service is a yearly, subscription-based leasing model for hardware and cloud TSSs. Purchasing a TSE-as-a-Service package will provide you for the duration of the subscription with the necessary hardware or the applicable access credentials for the respective online service. When the subscription expires, you or your PosOperator need to return the hardware or renew the subscription.
You cannot purchase a TSE-as-a-Service as an individual product, but only as part of a fiskaltrust.Sorglos bundle.

Please note that a TSE obtained through a individual product can only be used with one queue. If you want to use more than one queue on the same TSE then we offer TSE-as-a-Service as part of a fiskaltrust.Sorglos bundle.
